Kai Kai on Camera :) Some video clips of our first week with our little guy

One Week Old!

We love our little guy! Yes, he's in a pink towel. :) Pink is the Taipei Adventist Hospital colour :)
Jeremiah spent his one week birthday back at the hospital under the lights. We knew he had a higher risk for jaundice when he left the hospital, and were told to keep an eye on that in particular. Leaving him at the hospital for three days was rough on our mama and papa hearts, but we knew he needed this light therapy and was in the best care there. We got to visit him two times a day. It did our hearts good to see him "sunbathing" and looking so relaxed and content. I like to think that his heart was singing, "I want to be in the LIGHT as you are in the LIGHT, I want to shine like the stars in the heavens . . . "
I so enjoyed the cuddle times we got on our visits!

Jeremiah - God is exalted.           We thank God for the gift of our little guy. We thank God for carrying us through the storm and blessing us with our rainbow baby.

Jeremiah 1:4 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you"

Kai - This name has many meanings. In Chinese it means "victory" or "triumph". Our boy truly is a song of God's victory. We also found a meaning as "rejoice." We rejoice, we rejoice, and again we say rejoice! In Hawaiian Kai means "ocean." We like the connection of this meaning to his big sister, Isla, meaning island. They are both our island babies.

Christian - this name is given in honour of our fathers - Christian Brodersen and Christian Bastke. Our little boy is blessed with two "Christian" Opas :) We pray he'll come to understand the meaning of this name and make his own decision to follow Christ at a young age. We so thankful for our families love, support and dances of joy with us.

We brought Jeremiah Kai Christian home to the rooftop on March 21. Again, a song of victory and love sang. It's been an amazing journey already. Each day is filled with discoveries and hearts that continue to burst with joy and thanks!
