With Tomb Sweeping weekend in Taiwan, we headed to Bangkok where we were swept away with a thirst for travel. From our airport limo (ok, it's just a van, but we call it an airport limo) to the Tao Yuan Airport to the last leg of our taxi trip back from Yuan Shan station, we can say ADVENTURE! We are thankful for the journey!
Bangkok Bubbles of FUN!
- Going to the Grand Palace and all the colour about us. We got to wear borrowed "Thai skirts" and "Thai pants" for the boys.
- Seeing a group of Chinese tourists taking their group photo and then immediately after the "click" jumping up and popping their umbrellas open. It looked like they were getting ready for a dance number.
- We were blessed with wonderful clear skies and sun and heat and . . . a cool breeze.
- Bargaining for a boat cruise through the river canals of Bangkok.
- Seeing a very large iguana swimming in the canal. I thought it was a crocodile :)
- Waves and smiles from many dear Thai hearts as we were cruising.
- Staying at the Boonsiri Hotel with colour themed rooms - ours were PURPLE!
- Getting massages and then another massage!
- Shopping at the world's largest market and on Khao Shan Road.
- Finding a new passion for shopping for soccer shirts with my husband. Daniel actually ended up with great ones - my favorite is a purple one. Hmm . . . am sensing a purple theme here. Perfect for a purple peppers post :)
- Our 3-day weekend turning into a 4-day weekend due to a technical problem with our KLM aircraft. We are thankful for a safe arrival home.
- Staying at the Radisson for an extra night. Enjoying the dinner buffet. Getting a 5:00 am call for our new flight :)
- Mangos and sticky rice with coconut milk. Friends, were are talking a dance of joy on a plate!
- Smoothies on the street!
- Traveling and delighting with the Changs. Campbell and Linda are fabulous!
- Pad Thai for lunch everyday!
Though I have been to Bangkok before, it was filled with continued discoveries. Visiting another country always opens your eyes to more of God's creation and His people. Am continually wowed!
