Have a Macau!

We enjoyed a day trip from Hong Kong to Macau – the former Portuguese colony that returned to Mainland China in 1999. It was like stepping into an Asian/European historical fusion. We walked down the cobblestone streets and little hutong type roads too. The vendors sold Portuguese baked treats and dried fish and squid. The scents and sounds played a paradox of symphonies. It was quite the experience. My first year in Mainland China gave me glimpses of the coastline of Macau by ferry, but this time I was able to venture off the ferry and discover the area with Daniel by my side. Daniel BTW, it truly my GPS. His keen sense of direction is such an incredible blessing. It was his first time to Macau, but he always knew exactly where he was going and which road to take. Feels good to just follow my man! We enjoyed the historical side of churches and forts, and the cannons were cool!

We also looked at the modern casinos and grandeur of the structures with tinsel all about. One of the biggest is the Venetian which has a canal inside.

We went to McDonald's in MacAo. I once again found my favourite McDonald's treat from the mainland – the hot sauce! This hot sauce is especially good with fries.
We did indeed have a Macau!
